Life Changing Events
Life changing events are significant personal events that may impact your health insurance, life insurance or other federal benefits. Often, you should notify your employer of a life changing event to ensure that you and/or your family receive the benefits you expect.
Some examples of life changing events are:
- Becoming Disabled
- Leaving or Changing Jobs
- Being Called to or From Military Duty
- Having a Child or Adopting a Child
- A Child Coming of Age
- Getting Married or Divorced
- Caring for a Sick Loved One
- Your Death or the Death of a Loved One
