Kathy Hendrickson, DFAS Director of Human Resources

Kathy Hendrickson serves as the DFAS Director for Human Resources (HR), providing strategy, policy, and operations support to DFAS and tailored personnel services to several DoD and other Federal agencies.
Before assuming this position, Ms. Hendrickson served as the DFAS Deputy HR Director. Her experience includes a variety of leadership positions prior to and since the establishment of DFAS. Before joining DFAS, she provided HR support to the Army in Zweibruecken, Germany, at Fort Lee, Virginia, and at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California.
Ms. Hendrickson serves on DoD’s Civilian Personnel Policy Council and, with her team, supports a broad range of DoD HR transformation, performance, and customer service initiatives. Her DFAS HR portfolio of service includes the DoD Personnel Force Innovation program which delivers US military reserve member support to surge or temporary military missions across DoD. Ms. Hendrickson has earned Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts Degrees and is a certified Greenbelt. She also holds certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources. She is a graduate of the Federal Executive Institute’s Leadership for a Democratic Society Program and the Harvard Senior Leadership Program. She is also the 2023 recipient of the Robert F. Hale award for leadership in resourcing the DoD mission and developing the financial workforce.
