Are you looking to do business with DFAS? The first step is to become a registered federal contractor. The DFAS Contract Services Directorate (DFAS-CSD) provides contract support to five primary DFAS sites (Columbus, Cleveland, Indianapolis, Limestone ME, Rome NY) and DFAS Europe and DFAS Japan.

What is the role of the DFAS Small Business Office?
The DFAS Small Business Office acts as the agency's small business advocate and provides guidance and technical assistance for small, small disadvantaged, 8(a),  women owned, HUBZone, and veteran-owned, and service disabled veteran firms. DFAS-OSBP also assists the DFAS Contract Services Directorate and DFAS Program offices in locating small businesses for utilization consideration for its supplies and service requirements.

What happens after registering as a federal contractor?
Once your company is registered as a federal contractor, you may compete for applicable DFAS contract opportunities. DFAS uses three main acquisition sources to obtain goods and services through the contracting process:

  • Federal Business Opportunities
    All "open market" opportunities or "full and open" competitive purchases are posted on the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOps) website. You can start the process of finding and bidding on federal business opportunities by following the instructions, user guides, frequently asked questions and demonstrational videos posted in the "Getting Started" section of the FedBizOpps website.
  • General Services Administration Federal Supply Schedule
    The GSA Schedules Program establishes long-term government wide contracts for a wide variety of products and services including IT solutions. These contracts allow DFAS and other federal agencies to acquire multiple supplies and services directly from commercial suppliers. GSA's website outlines the process to become a GSA Schedule contractor.
  • National Aeronautics and Space Administration Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement (SEWP, pronounced 'soup')
    The NASA Solutions for Enterprise Wide Procurement (SEWP) V contracts are focused on commercial IT products and product based services consisting of 145 Competed Prime Contract Holders, including 119 small businesses. The SEWP V contracts are 5 year contracts with one five year option and are due to end April 30, 2025. If your company has products or services that you wish to add to a current SEWP V contract or if you would like to partner with an existing Contract Holder, please contact one or more of the current contract holders and determine what opportunities are available under their contracts. A list of Points of Contact for each company can be found on the SEWP Website.

    *Note the primary contracting vehicles DFAS-CSD primarily utilizes are the GSA Federal Supply Schedules and NASA SEWP IDIQ contracts.
