Tour Description: 26-6340, Length 1 Year; Serves as the Operations Officer (OPSO) for the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Weapons Support (WS) team aboard Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point (CP), NC. DLA WS CP is a a DLA-forward Industrial Support Activity Directorate embedded with their primary customer Navy Fleet Readiness Center (FRC) East, Cherry Point, NC. You will be the key military leader responsible for ensuring our team provides seamless and effective supply support to Multiple Department of War aircraft, engines, and components maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) lines.
Key responsibilities include: Report directly to Navy, Supply Corps, O5 and civilian Deputy Commander, GS-14 Position requires daily onsite physical presence at an industrial service Depot. Directly manage and synchronize the flow of material required to sustain depot-level maintenance for a wide variety of multi-service aircraft, including the F-35, F/A-18, V-22, H-53, C-130, HH-60 and H-1 at 3 distinct geographical locations under FRC East Cherry Point to also include FRC East detachments at MCAS New River, NC and FRC E Kinston, NC Lead efforts to resolve material readiness challenges and systemic Non-Mission Capable Supply (NMCS) issues, developing solutions to improve FRC East’s production. Act as the primary DLA military liaison, attending FRC East production meetings, in-process reviews, and leadership forums to represent DLA and coordinate support. Provide leadership, oversight, and direct support to the DLA Commander and Deputy Commander on all aspects of the ISA's mission. Oversee DLA information repository, preparation, and presentation including sharepoint and databases using Microsoft suite of products to include MS Teams and third party software such as Qlik and Power BI.
Collaborate and engage with a predominantly civilian GS workforce. Oversee and manage various logistics functions, including stock control, Bill of Material (BOM) maintenance, material requisitioning, and inventory programs. Qualifications: Grade: O-3 / O-4 or CW2 / CW3 (relevant experience beneficial). Desired: Background in aviation logistics, supply chain management, and/or maintenance. Prior experience working in or directly supporting a depot-level maintenance
