JANA D. HAYNIE, DIRECTOR, DFAS JAPANJana D. Haynie assumed the position as the Director of the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) Japan in August 2012. She is responsible for providing finance and accounting support to all branches of Military Service and Defense Agency components located throughout Japan and the Western Pacific region.
Prior to this assignment, Ms. Haynie served as the Director, Client Executive Liaison for the U.S. Air Force where she served as an ambassador for ensuring that all DFAS mission areas provided quality service to 75 Air Force bases, 80 Air National Guard units and the U.S. Transportation Command. In this role, she was responsible for analyzing operational results, customer liaison, managing the $300M bill for DFAS support, and facilitating initiatives enabling DFAS to provide excellent service to its customers.
Ms. Haynie was the Deputy Director and Director of Accounting at DFAS Limestone from November 2008 to August 2010. In this role, she assisted in managing the operational site and day-to-day operations of providing finance and accounting services to the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Transportation Command.
Ms. Haynie began her federal career in 1988, enlisting in the U.S. Air Force as a financial services specialist. After completing her active duty commitment, she began her civil service career with the Defense Finance and Accounting Service where she held numerous accounting and finance leadership positions at Altus AFB, Sheppard AFB, DFAS Omaha, DFAS Denver, DFAS Kansas City, DFAS Lawton, DFAS Europe and DFAS Columbus. In these roles, she provided support to Air Force, Army, Navy, Marine Corp and a large number of Defense Agency customers.
Ms. Haynie holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in management and accounting from Columbia College and a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Oklahoma. A certified defense financial manager and a certified Lean6 Green Belt, she is a member of both the American Society of Military Comptrollers and the Association of Government Accountants.
