Changes to USAJOBS.gov

Oct. 11, OPM completed its transition to the new USAJOBS. 

To update your USAJOBS Account, take the following steps:

1) Applicants will be prompted to reset their password when attempting to login to USAJOBS for the first time after the transition. The easiest method is to answer three secret questions associated with the account.  

 
2) Re-create saved searches (i.e. the automatic email alerts of vacancy announcements).  
 
3) Update your USAJOBS profile to complete the new questions. Go into ‘Resumes’ and confirm whether you want your resumes and profile to be searchable.
 
4) Check the status of your uploaded documents to ensure they are current and ready to use in job applications.
 
To search for DFAS jobs, visit www.usajobs.gov and click on Advanced Search. Under Agency Search, select the Department of Defense. Next, choose Defense Finance and Accounting Service under Sub Agency and click Add. When viewing vacancy search results, use the Refine Your Results buttons to view either ‘Jobs for U.S. Citizens’ that are open to the public, or ‘Jobs for Federal Employees’ that are open to status candidates.
