Flexible SchedulesDFAS has established an Alternate Work Schedule (AWS) program allowing qualified employees the flexibility to arrange work schedules to achieve a more desired balance between work, family or personal responsibilities.
DFAS also offers a flexible daily schedule. Flexible work schedules are subject to core hours and supervisory approval. Thirty to 120 minutes could be taken for lunch as long as a minimum of eight hours are worked during the day.
Examples of an eight hour work day with a 30 minute or 60 minute lunch:
- Arrive at 6:30 a.m. and leave at 3 p.m.
- Arrive at 7 a.m. and leave at 3:30 p.m.
- Arrive at 6 a.m. and leave at 3 p.m.
- Arrive at 7:30 a.m. and leave at 4:30 p.m.
Authorized time worked in excess of your approved schedule, generally 80 hours every two weeks, is credited as compensatory time, overtime or credit hours. A maximum of 24 credit hours can be carried over every two weeks.
