MOCAS News

Beginning April 1, 2022 DFAS will move from a monthly reporting business standard to daily reporting to Treasury. This change will improve financial information, improve interoperability between business systems, and provide better end-to-end funds traceability and linkage between budget and expenditures.
Why?
  • SLOA allows for a single format to be used when inputting accounting classifications regardless of the service
  • It ensures DoD is operating in a common sense, accountable, and modern business environment
  • Ensures accuracy of accounting transactions
  • Improves interoperability between business systems
MOCAS users will see these changes within the system:
  • The 26 elements of the Line of Accounting will be required input across all services
  • Some existing elements will be renamed
  • The Treasury Account Symbol (TAS) will move from five elements to nine
  • Some of the screens within MOCAS will have a different appearance
For any additional questions regarding the new SLOA changes, please contact your Contract Administrator and/or Customer Care Center.
