Annuitant CEI Change

As you may know, when an annuitant’s account is suspended for more than six months, we need a Certificate to Establish Identity (CEI).
To make it easier for annuitants to submit this certificate, we changed the policy to add notaries and the branch of service retiree service organizations to the list of authorized officials who can verify identity and sign the CEI.
The other authorized officials are legal service offices (such as courts or law enforcement), Survivor Services Offices, and the disbursing office at an armed forces base or post.
We are in the process of updating the CEI certificate, letters, and other communications.
