1.  Task Name:  Develop Joint Technical Architecture (JTA) Profile

2.  Purpose:  Analyze and identify applicable Joint Technical Architecture services and standards.  The JTA provides guidelines and standards for DoD systems development and acquisition to ensure system interoperability.  It defines the minimum set of rules governing the arrangement, interaction, and interdependence of the parts or elements to ensure the application conforms with a specific set of requirements.  The JTA profile provides information about the proposed compliance of the system under development with that set of standards.

5.  Entrance Criteria:

     a.  Joint Technical Architecture (JTA) Profile Standard (Word 195KB)
     b.  System Requirements Specification (SRS) (Word 80KB)
     c.  Enterprise Technical Architecture

6.  Procedures:

     a.  Review the current DoD JTA and the DFAS modified JTA Profile contained in
          the JTA Profile Standard to ensure that all relevant requirements are
          included in the profile
     b.  Add any missing requirements to the Application JTA Profile in the applicable
          section
     c.  Review the SRS using the revised Application JTA Profile and determine
          whether each specific Service is applicable. If applicable mark the "Applies"
          column for that Service.  Repeat process for each JTA Service in the profile
     d.  Review the "Allocation" column and assign compliance responsibility to your
          application and/or other corporate components, e.g., DFAS COE
     e.  Coordinate the allocation assignment with the manager of the allocated
          corporate component(s)
     f.   Complete the "Compliancy Plan" column for each Service that applies to the
          profiled application. Note: Leave the "Compliant" column blank at this time.
          It will be completed by the JTA testing group
     g.  Submit the Application JTA Profile to DFAS/DT for coordination/concurrence
     h.  Submit the coordinated Application JTA Profile to the Defense Information
          Systems Agency (DISA) Center for Standards for certification
