CMIS (Configuration Management Information System) is the DFAS standard for configuration management support. It automates change control, document routing, data retention and maintenance, status reporting, release control, configuration item management, and change order management. The CMIS database is the physical repository within CMIS which holds documentation on program trouble reports, system change requests, configuration items, configuration change orders, and releases.
