Vaccinations
DFAS employees are eligible to receive the flu vaccination at no cost at their DFAS location.
The Centers for Disease Control & Prevention recommend getting vaccinated for the flu - both seasonal and H1N1
Initial supply of H1N1 vaccine will go to health care providers and then to people in at risk categories. For H1N1, it is especially important that people at risk receive the vaccinations.
The following groups of people are at increased risk of contracting H1N1 and experiencing severe illness.
The people in these categories should address risk concerns with their personal physician.
At-Risk Categories
- Pregnant women
- People with underlying health conditions:
- Diabetes
- heart disease
- asthma
- kidney disease
- liver disorders
- neurological disorders
- weakened immune systems
- Younger Population: 6 months - 24 year
