Support your RetireeMilitary Retirement is a benefit, a benefit you've worked for those past 20, 30 years of military service. As such you want to experience an easy transition into the civilian world. One sure way to transition into the civilian world is to have understand what you will need when you go to your servicing finance office or the retirement office. Here are just a few ideas the will help you prepare for this life changing event. We recommend you contact your servicing Defense Military Pay Office, Finance Service Office, and Personnel Detachment personnel for further guidance.    

Travel Allowances: Upon your retirement you are entitled to travel pay from your last duty station to any point within CONUS

Mileage Driving: You and your family are entitled to receive an advance of mileage for up to two when driving. The use of two Privately Owned Vehicles (POVs) is authorized provided the member and/or family members own or have a long term lease on the vehicle.
