4. I left the ROTC program, completed my education, and recently received an active duty commission as an officer. Can my debt be forgiven?

Answer:   Possibly. Whether you are an officer or enlisted member, each branch of service has established acceptable criteria for considering debt forgiveness. Please contact us so we may obtain additional information from you, as well as provide you with guidance when submitting a written request for forgiveness. Service in the Guard or Reserve forces does not qualify.

5. Will the interest rate on my education debt fluctuate?

Answer:   No. The interest accrual is a fixed rate based on the 90 day Treasury Bill Auction Rate at the time of separation, or when the designated Secretary orders repayment of the debt, as in the case of academy cadets.
