Claims and Correction
of Records

Out-of-Service Claims

DFAS-POCC/DE processes out-of-service claims for former members of the Air Force, Army, Navy, and Marine Corps after they have been separated for one year or more. Claims must state specifically what is being claimed, and must include the social security number, branch of service, date of separation, current address and phone number. Submit claims with your handwritten signature to:

Denver CO 80279-7100.
Do not submit a claim to this office if you have received notice of a debt after separation. In addition, if your claim is for a period that is 6 years old or more, and you cannot provide evidence that you have previously submitted the claim, it is barred from consideration by Section 1 of the Barring Act of 1940 as amended by 1 U.S.C. 3702. Correction of Military Records

DFAS-POCC/DE processes payments for Correction of Military Records cases after receipt of an approved directive from one of the Boards for Correction of Military Records. If you believe you are the victim of an error or injustice which affects your military record, you may apply for a Correction of Military Records by completing and submitting a DD Form 149 , Application For Correction of Military Record. Submit your completed DD Form 149 to the appropriate address on page 2 of the form. If you have received an approved directive from one of the Boards and want to know the status of your case, call our inquiry line at 303-676-7053 between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. mountain time.
