2.  How many days of accumulated leave can members of the armed forces carry over if they are not serving in areas designated for greater carryover or in support of contingency operations? 

Currently 60 days.  Effective October 1, 2008, through December 31, 2010, it will be 75 days. (see Public Law 110-181.)  There are special rules for members in a missing status (see 10 United States Code (USC) 701(g) and 27 USC 501(h).at http://www4.law.cornell.edu/uscode/html/uscode10/usc_sec_10_00000701----000-.html and http://www4.law.cornell.edu/uscode/html/uscode37/usc_sec_37_00000501----000-.html.)  These laws were also amended by Public Law 110-181.
