“Welcome to the 9^th issue of the DFAS Retired Pay Newsletter.  A fact sheet on the DVA retroactive pay is included in this issue, along with Frequently Asked Questions concerning the subject.  Are you aware that DFAS participates with the Services in holding Retiree Seminars throughout the year at various locations?  Included in this issue is a list of the remaining 2006 retiree seminars as well as the seminars held previously this year.  The one-year Survivor Benefit Plan (SBP) Open Season will end September 30, 2006.  Again, as a reminder, please keep your account status updated and advise DFAS of changes affecting your account.  Are your survivors aware of who to notify regarding your retired pay account in the event of your death?  Some helpful information has been provided that may prevent undue stress for your loved ones.”
