DFAS Retired Pay Newsletter

The Director’s Corner by Karl H. Bernhardt

“Welcome to the 7th issue of the DFAS Retired Pay Newsletter. Thank you for your overwhelming response to the survey in last month’s issue. We are continuing to evaluate the many welcome suggestions that you have made and, where feasible, will make every effort to address your concerns in a future issue.  In this issue, as a result of numerous inquiries, we have provided a brief explanation of the upcoming SBP paid-up cost information. By the Fall of 2006, DFAS will be introducing voice-enabled technology in our Customer Service Center. This will be a significant upgrade for our Customer Service Center. In light of the recent loss of personal data by the Department of Veterans Affairs, we have provided information on DFAS’ Data Security and myPay. As year end approaches, it is especially important that your current correspondence address is on file with DFAS.”
