"Welcome to the 3rd
issue of the DFAS Retired Pay Newsletter.
This month you will find information addressing our recent End-of-Year
(EOY) Activities and Reminders, Survivor Benefit Plan (SBP) Open Season,
Combat-Related Special Compensation (CRSC) eligibility, CRSC/CRDP Open Season,
and International Direct Deposit. Based
on your many suggestions and questions received from the initial two
newsletters, in this issue we are providing clarification regarding the
important legislative Open Seasons currently underway. Therefore, we have prepared some Frequently
Asked Questions (FAQs), as suggested, to help address
some of your concerns with respect to the SBP Open Season and CRSC
eligibility. We have also provided a
“Who/What/When” guide for the CRSC/CRDP Open Season election that runs through
January 31, 2006. You will also read
about the new International Direct Deposit program available for military
retirees and annuitants living outside the United States".
