1099R Information
Reminder…effective
September 1, 2004, all current myPay
military retired users who request or already have a myPay Personal Identification Number (PIN) and access myPay are consenting to receive
ONLY an electronic 1099R. Information
concerning myPay can be found
on the home page at https://mypay.dfas.mil/.
The consent
to receive an "electronic" 1099R will remain in effect each year,
unless an election is made to receive a "hard copy" 1099R.
Retirees may “opt out” of this election electronically through myPay or submit a written
request, prior to November 1, 2006 in order to receive a "hard
copy" 1099R for tax year 2006, to the Defense Finance and Accounting
Service (DFAS) at the following address:

Electronic
1099R will be available yearly on myPay
and will be available for the entire year.
The electronic 1099R will discontinue upon the death of a retired member
or when the retiree enters into a non-pay or tax exempt status for an entire
calendar year.
