CCR Strong Password Update
On December 21, 2008 the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) implemented a mandatory information assurance change to the system to enhance the safety of your records and align the management of registrations with industry best practices. This change implements a strong Password and User ID.
Due to the overwhelming positive response from the CCR community, we are experiencing a higher than normal volume of calls and emails to the help desk. Please be advised that we are extending the timeframe to update accounts from June to December 21, 2009.
You now can update to the strong ID and Password during your anniversary renewal month. By extending the timeframe for which you may update your account, we are expecting our helpdesk will experience a more evenly distributed response from the user community and thereby minimize current wait times of individuals standing in queue.
If you currently have a CCR record and need to access or change your record prior to your anniversary renewal month, you will need to create the new ID and Password first.
BEFORE YOU RENEW YOUR REGISTRATION : We strongly recommend you take a moment to watch the following video tutorial: http://www.acquisition.gov/CCRStrongPassword.wmv.
You may also use our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) to learn more about this process at http://www.ccr.gov/FAQ.aspx#accounts. The previously posted FAQs for renewing your registration have been reviewed and clarified since the December 21 implementation date.
We apologize for any inconvenience you experienced during the past few weeks and understand any frustration this change may have caused. Our goal is to support you, and as a result, our CCR team is working hard to resolve all current major issues quickly, answer all of your questions, and provide resources to help you through this process. By working with our business partners and increasing the number of resources available to serve you, we are anticipating steady improvement of the current situation over the next few weeks. We appreciate your patience during this transition.
