How to Apply
DFAS job announcements are posted
on the Office of Personnel Management's website,
USAJOBS
. You can
use the USAJOBS search features to locate jobs of interest. Once
you find a job you'd like to apply for, you should perform the
following steps:

Determine if you are eligible to
apply. Look on the first page of the job announcement under "Who
May Be Considered" for a description of the
area of consideration.
If it is anything other than "All US
Citizens", you must also have
appointment eligibility
.

Review the "Qualifications" tab
on the job announcement for the position's experience and/or
education requirements. For positions in professional and
administrative series,
professional credentials and
certifications
are also
used in the applicant selection process.

Click on the "How to Apply" tab
and review application instructions.

Select the "Apply Online" button
at the bottom of the vacancy announcement.

You will be directed to USAJOBS
to log in or create an account, if you do not have one.

The prompts will direct you to a
system where you will complete and submit your
application.
DFAS is
transitioning to a new on-line application system. No matter which
system you use, follow instructions in the vacancy announcement and
the on-line system to submit a complete
application.
