TSGLI is an entitlement that Wounded Warrior may receive if they are covered by Service members’ Group Life Insurance (SGLI), and they sustain an injury that results in certain severe losses, such as loss of a leg or an arm. All members of the uniformed services that have part-time or full-time SGLI are automatically covered by TSGLI while the member is in service effective December 1, 2005.
TSGLI coverage is automatic for those insured under basic SGLI. The only way to decline TSGLI is to decline the basic SGLI coverage.
NOTE:TSGLI is not available to spouses and children under Family SGLI. It is available to Service Members insured under SGLI.
