The Defense Military Pay Office (DMPO) provides finance service to military personnel. The dedicated personnel of the DMPOs are committed to helping in any way possible to meet customers needs. It is their mission to provide timely and accurate military pay services to all Soldiers.
What are some of the Functions of the DMPO?
The Defense Military Pay Office does many things for the military service members. The following information is a brief description of the functions of the Defense Military Pay Office.
Defense Military Pay Officer: T he Defense Military Pay officer is the overall supervisor of all personnel assigned to the Defense Military Pay Office. In addition, this person is often the final approving official for all military pay related payments and pay decisions.
Customer Service: The customer service section is responsible for answering all questions for the DMPO customers. They can also direct you to the right contact information for specific questions.
Processing: The processing section of the DMPO is responsible for the timely and accurate input of all pay related documents into the Defense Military Pay System
In/Out Processing: This area of the DMPO is responsible for Permanent Change of Stations (PCS) travel advances and settlements. This section also created new pay accounts, and computes final pay and allowances for separating and retiring Soldiers. The In/Out processing section will be the majority of contact you have with the DMPO.
Review: The review section's main purpose is to audit and oversee the DMPO. The audits ensure that the office complies with all rules and regulation for each Soldier's pay.
